The brain behind imac hardware — Sikh boy Navpreet Kaloty

Scaling heights in foreign land

It was a proud moment for the Sikh community as two boys with local roots made it to Apple Spring Loaded event 2021.

The duo that has made it big is Navpreet Kaloty, Engineering Programme Manager, Mac Architecture, and Harry Chadha.

Restaurateur and social activist, who is known for his bakeries Belfrance and Hot Breads in Ludhiana, Punjab, Harjinder Singh Kukreja shared the feat on social media, saying two Sikh boys were spotted at Apple event on Tuesday.

Lauding the boys, Kukreja said he was extremely proud of Navpreet Kaloty, Engineering Programme Manager, Mac Architecture, and hailed Apple for giving Sikhs abroad a platform.

In his first tweet, a Ludhiana based businessman said: Let’s acknowledge and give @Apple  a shout out for Sikh representation in today’s #AppleEvent. This is a giant leap for diversity and inclusion. Proud of you Navpreet Kaloty, Engineering Program Manager, Mac Architecture.


He also shared another video on his Twitter: Beautiful presentation by Navpreet Kaloty, the brain behind iMac hardware. He’s the Engineering Program Manager for Apple. Kudos to Apple for the Sikh representation in #AppleEvent  Diversity and inclusion in technology are quintessential for industry.


According to the CNBCTV18, Apple’s Navpreet Kaloty showcased the new 1080p FaceTime camera on the new iMac and said that the ISP on the M1 SoC can intelligently improve colours, shadows, noise and a dynamic range on video feed to improve conference quality. The entry level model costs $1299.

He also shared another post of Sikh boy, Harry Chadha, at Apple event.
