India were 99 for three in reply to England’s 112 all out on the opening day of the day-night third Test here on Wednesday.
At the end of first day play, Rohit Sharma was batting on 57 and giving him company was vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane on 1.
Shubman Gill (11), Cheteshwar Pujara (0) and skipper Virat Kohli were the three wickets to fall for India.
Earlier, England were all out on 112 against India in Ahmedabad in the third day night pink ball Test match.
Axar Patel took 6 wickets, while Ashwin took 3 wickets. Zak Crawley scored 53.
Earlier,England won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the third Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Wednesday.
India has made two changes, Jasprit Bumrah comes in for Mohammed Siraj and Washington Sundar comes in for Kuldeep Yadav.
