Former Attorney General of India Soli Sorabjee (90) died of Covid at a private hospital here on Friday morning, according to the media reports.
He is survived by wife, two sons and daughter Zia Mody, a lawyer.
Shri Soli Sorabjee was an outstanding lawyer and intellectual. Through law, he was at the forefront of helping the poor and downtrodden. He will be remembered for his noteworthy tenures India’s Attorney General. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers.

Sorabjee served as the Attorney General of India from 1989 to 1990 during the VP Singh government and from 1998 to 2004 during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
He was on March 9, 1930 and obtained his LLB degree from Government Law College, Mumbai.
Later, he enrolled at the bar in Mumbai in 1953. He was designated a senior advocate in 1971.
