Five assembly polls to begin March 27, West Bengal to have max 8 phases, counting of votes on May 2

Assembly elections in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the Union Territory of Puducherry will be held from March 27 to April 29, while the counting of votes will be held on May 2, the Election Commission of India said on Friday.

West Bengal assembly elections to be held in 8 phases, up from 7 last time, beginning with polling for 30 seats on March 27.

Polling for second phase of West Bengal assembly elections on April 1 to cover 30 constituencies.

Third phase polling for West Bengal on Apr 6 to cover 31 seats; 4th phase on Apr 10 for 44 constituencies.

Fifth phase of West Bengal assembly polls on Apr 17 for 45 seats; 6th phase on Apr 22 for 43 constituencies.

Seventh phase of West Bengal assembly polls on Apr 26 for 36 seats; Last and 8th phase on Apr 29 for 35 constituencies.

Single phase polling in #Puducherry on April 6.

Kerala Will go to polls on 6 April.

Tamil Nadu will go to poll in single phase on April 6.

Assam Will go to poll in 3 phases. Dates of polls:27 March,1 April, 6 April.

All poll officials will be vaccinated against #COVID19: CEC Sunil Arora

The counting of votes will be held on May 2.
