India to open vaccinations for all above 18 years from May 1, decision taken at the high level meet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here today with high health officials and doctors.
According to the reports, several important decisions taken in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister pricing, procurement, eligibility and administration of vaccines being made flexible in Phase 3 of the World’s Largest Vaccination drive.
In a PMO statement, PM urged doctors from cities with experience in COVID management to reach out to those in under-served areas.
During the meeting PM Modi said vaccination biggest weapon in COVID-19 fight; urged doctors to encourage more and more patients to get vaccinated. He also urged doctors to educate people against rumours on COVID-19 and said it was important people do not become victim of panic.
PM encouraged doctors to use tele-medicine for treatment of other diseases in non-emergency cases.
PM said COVID-19 pandemic spreading rapidly in smaller cities too; calls for accelerating efforts to upgrade resources in such places.
