A 23-year-old woman allegedly ended her life by ‘jumping’ into the Sabarmati river at the Riverfront side in Ahmedabad.
Before taking the extreme step, the woman, identified as Ayesha Arif Khan, recorded a heartrending video clip on her mobile phone, with a smile on her face.
Ayesha said that she was ending her life out of her own will and nobody had forced her to do it,
According to the media reports, Ayesha’s body was recovered from the Riverfront west side by a team of fire safety department officials and police.
A case has been registered and an investigation has been launched, sources said.
Ayesha got married to Arif Khan, a resident of Rajasthan’s Jalore, in July 2018.

“Whatever I am going to do is my decision and nobody has pressured me for this. I have nothing to say now. Understand that the almighty gave me a short life,” she said.
She further said in the video with a smiling face: “Dad, how long will you fight? Withdraw the case. Ayesha is not made for battles. I love Arif, so why will we bother him?
If he wants freedom, then he should be free. Anyway, my life is ending here. I am happy that I will meet Allah. I will ask him where did I make a mistake? What is the fault with me?” she added.
She further adds, “Ek cheez jarur sikh gayi hoon; mohabbat karni hai to do tarfa karo, ek tarfe se kuch haasil nahi hota (I have learnt one thing; if you want to love, let it be two-sided. Nothing can be gained from one-sided love).
“Main hawaaon ki tarah hoon; main behna chaahti hoon… Main khush hoon aaj…Mujhe duaon me yaad karna, kya pata jannat mile na mile (I am like the winds; I want to flow… I am happy today… Remember me in your prayers. Don’t know if I will go to heaven or not)”: these were Ayesha’s last words.
