India defeated COVID-19 last year, we can do it again with same principles but faster speed and coordination: PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the preparedness of public health response to COVID-19 situation in the country with ministers and officials. The PM directed the officials to ensure utilisation of entire national capacity, in public and pvt sector, to ramp up COVID-19 vaccine production.

During the review meet over COVID-19 situation, PM Modi said that there is no substitute to testing, tracking and treatment.

Highlights of the meeting

Use of Remdesivir, other medicines must follow approved medical guidelines; Their misuse, black marketing must be strictly curbed: PM

PM reviews status of availability, supply of ventilators; calls for real-time monitoring system

All necessary measures must be taken to ramp up availability of hospital beds for COVID-19 patients: PM

Local administrations need to be proactive, sensitive to people’s concerns: PM Modi

PM reviews status of supply of Remdesivir, other medicines; calls for speeding up installation of approved medical oxygen plants
