Capt Amarinder won’t meet Navjot Sidhu unless he ‘publicly apologises’ for ‘derogatory attacks’, says Media Advisor to the Punjab CM

Denying the reports of Punjab newly elected Navjot Singh Sidhu seeking time to meet Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, Raveen Thukral, Media Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister tweeted that the Punjab CM would not meet newly-appointed state Congress Chief unless the latter “publicly apologises” for his “derogatory social media attacks” against Singh. He wrote on Tuesday that no time has been sought whatsoever.

“Reports of @sherryontop  seeking time to meet @capt_amarinder are totally false. No time has been sought whatsoever. No change in stance… CM won’t meet #NavjotSinghSidhu till he publicly apologises for his personally derogatory social media attacks against him,” said Raveen Thukral, Media Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister, in a tweet.

Earlier, Senior Punjab Cabinet Minister Brahm Mohindra on Tuesday welcomed the appointment of Navjot Singh Sidhu as the PPCC president, but ruled out a personal meeting with him till he resolves his issues with Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

In a statement issued here, Brahm Mohindra said the decision to appoint Sidhu had been taken by the high command and is welcome.

“However, I will not meet him (Sidhu) till he meets the Chief Minister and resolves his issues with him”, said Mohindra, adding that Captain Amarinder Singh is the leader of the Congress legislative party and he (Mohindra) is duty-bound to follow him.
