Arvind Kejriwal announces lockdown from 10 pm tonight till 5 am next Monday; appeals to migrant workers not to leave Delhi

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced complete curfew from April 19 midnight till April 26 morning to break the transmission of #COVID19; appeals to migrant workers to not leave Delhi.

“We did not allow health systems to collapse even in the third wave but now with 23,500 cases in the last 24 hours and over 25,000  in the previous 24 hours, the health infrastructure is at its seams, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said.

He said, “If we do not take restrictive steps now, the system will collapse and we do not want that,” said the CM justifying the lockdown decision even though he said he was personally against lockdowns and believed that lockdowns only decreased the speed of the pandemic and were not a solution to the pandemic itself.
